A good act does not wash out the bad, nor a bad act the good. Each should have its own reward

How well these words of George R.R. Martin exemplifies Sanjay Dutts life, the day Supreme Court awarded a five-year sentence to Sanjay Dutt in 1993 serial blasts case, Rumour mills got abuzz with the amount of money at stake on Bollywood projects involving him. According to trade analysts, around Rs 250 crore are riding on Sanjay Dutt. Many came in the support of the star that he has two small kids and hundreds of crores are at stake in Bollywood even leaders, Bollywood actors and justice Katju came out in strong support, Sanjay Dutt who is sentenced under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai terror blast case.

On the one hand there are family members of the victims who were looking for the verdict that would cool their anger which has been simmering for the last two decades. It should not be the national issue that how much money is on stake but rather how many innocents lost their life, so this shameless rave on this issue should now end. The main issue is that hundreds of children lost their fathers and the future of thousands of families were put at stake due to the Mumbai blasts yet there are those who continue to favour Dutt. We Indians should appreciate that The Supreme Court judges have shown that they are not blind and that they can see things as they are and our judicial system is not bias. And so Sanjay Dutt is finally going to jail. It’s taken twenty years, yes, but justice though delayed has been delivered.

There are multiple arguments being made against Dutt’s sentencing. After so many years is it ok to punish a responsible citizen who is paying his tax regularly or whether his punishment will teach all the brats that they can’t take life easily. I don’t know how this judgment against him will shape socially but one thing I’m sure is that his mistake is not pardonable and today he may have changed but we can’t ignore the pain of the victims and a hero today was once anti hero once. Sanjay Dutt is not a criminal, he is not a terrorist. we don’t deny that but today I remember Harivansh Rai Bachchans words ki hum kya hai jo samay humari galtiyo ka itihas banaye .The world loves to call him Sanju baba, and he may have grown up from those days and no more Sanju baba or brat and why this all rave as he quoted today that he will not go for forgiveness I’m sure Sanjay as people proclaim him will go for this punishment with open arms which will lead him to his redemption and this punishment will be no less than purgation for him which will redeem him back his real personality for what people know him!
